ELON REEVE MUSK, popularly known as ELON MUSK was born on 28 June, 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. His mother name is Maye Musk and his father name is Errol Musk.

At present, Elon Musk is the founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX, CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc and founder of The Boring Company and X.com( part of PayPal), Co-founder of Neuralink, OpenAI and Zip2.

Elon musk is a South African-born American businessman and entrepreneur who was the founder of X.com in 1999( which now called PayPal), SpaceX in 2002 and Tesla motors in 2003.

Let's see the overview of Elon Musk's companies.

1. Zip2:

Elon Musk launched his first company with name Zip2 in the year 1995 by making his brother, Kimbal Musk and a friend, Gregory Kouri as his partners. 

The main idea of Elon Musk to launch Zip2 was that everyone ought to be able to find the closest coffee shop and to be able to know how to reach there. Later in 1999, Musk hand-Overed Zip2 company to Compaq Computer Corp. for $307 billion.

2. PayPal:

In the year 1999, Elon Musk and his brother started a new company named X.com by using the money that came from the sale of Zip2. X.com is known as PayPal at present.

X.com is an online financial services/ payments. In 2002, PayPal was acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in stock which helped Musk to earn his first billion.

3. SpaceX:

After Zip2 and PayPal, the third company that was founded by Elon Musk was SpaceX, Space Exploration Technologies Corporation in 2002.

The main intention of Musk to found SpaceX is to build spacecrafts for commercial space travel. In March 2018, U.S. government gave permission to SpaceX to launch satellites into the low orbit to provide internet service.

The satellite network was named as StarLink, which made easy to access the internet in rural areas.

4. Tesla Motors:

Tesla was founded in 2003 in which Elon Musk is the Co-founder, CEO and product architect. Tesla's product development, engineering and design of company's products. 

Tesla was founded to make producing affordable, solar roofs and mass electric cars as well as battery.

5. The Boring Company:

In the year 2017, Elon Musk founded "The Boring Company", which was founded to boring and building tunnels in order to reduce street traffic.

The Boring Company constructs safe, fast-to-dig, and low cost transportation tunnels.

According to Musk, "Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough".
